Silence is not always golden - did you know many of your favourite films rely heavily on the creative use of sound effects to breathe life into the universe within them?
Join us at Blueprints, an audio post-production facility that caters to the music, film and television industries, for a crash course in the fundamentals of foley creation and sound design. You’ll learn about the origins of foley, and have your hand at bringing life to a movie scene through the use of cloth, footsteps, props and other miscellaneous sound effects.
*Masterclass fees will be returned to all attendees after the workshop.

This Masterclass will explore: The Story of the Drum, Hand Drum Songs, Children Songs, Drum Beat Styles, Dance Styles and Song Making.
Come and experience this once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from Dave Simard (an accomplished Indigenous recording artist) and Orville Councillor (Indigenous singer/songwriter), both with over 40 years of experience as performing artists, with multiple distinguished awards and a passion for supporting Indigenous Music, Performing Arts, Heritage and Culture.
Orville Councillor is an Indigenous singer/songwriter from Naicatchewenin First Nation in the Treaty Three Territory of the Anishinaabe Nation. He is a recording artist and has traveled extensively all over North America in his 40 plus years as a performing artist. His performancesinclude Harmony of Nations Music Festival, Thunder Bay Canada Day Celebrations, Wake the Giant Festival, Mamawe Summer Festival and many more. He currently lives and works in Thunder Bay supporting Indigenous music development and creative new methods of sharing language, culture and the stories of the Anishinaabe of the region.
Dave Simard is an accomplished Indigenous recording artist from Lac Seul First Nation in Treaty Three of the Anishinaabe Nation. He is an Indigenous Peoples Choice Music Award winner, Thunder Bay Heritage Award winner, Wawatay Newsmaker of the year with the Thunder Mountain Singers. He has traveled throughout North America in his 40 plus years as a performing artist. He has organized and helped to develop cultural events, music festivals, workshops, dance groups and Powwows in the region. He lives and works in Thunder Bay supporting Indigenous Music, Performing Arts, Heritage and Culture.

We invite all patrons and their families to join us, drop in and meet and connect with other art lovers and other artists. Are you one of the following: actor, musician, writer, visual artist, author, dancer, singer etc.? Have you attended an STF event in the past? You are INVITED!
